Zhontian Intelligent Begins Phase II Expansion at Lingang to Strengthen Marine Engineering Equipment Manufacturing

Deep News10-10 09:00

Construction of the Phase II expansion project at the Lingang smart manufacturing base of Zhontian Intelligent Equipment (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. has officially commenced. This expansion represents a crucial step for the company to upgrade capacity and enhance quality on the foundation of its existing Lingang Phase I facility, marking a new stride in its industrial development of smart manufacturing. This "steel tailor" in the marine engineering sector is now stitching together a new landscape of intelligent manufacturing within the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone.

It is understood that Zhontian Intelligent has been deeply engaged in the marine engineering equipment manufacturing industry for over two decades. Starting as a single-equipment trader, it has gradually grown into an industry leader capable of providing complete plant-level intelligent solutions. In February 2025, the Phase I project of Zhontian Intelligent at Lingang broke ground and was officially put into operation in March of this year. The Phase I project integrates a smart manufacturing workshop, an R&D center, and supporting functional facilities, focusing on the promotion and application of independently developed intelligent products such as the digital-intelligent prefabrication production line for medium and large-diameter process pipelines, structural pipe manufacturing line, and H-beam intelligent processing line, propelling the company into a new stage of large-scale and intelligent development.

As industries like marine engineering and shipbuilding, petrochemicals, and energy and power accelerate their digital and intelligent transformation, market demand for high-end intelligent equipment, automated production lines, and integrated solutions continues to grow. Zhontian Intelligent closely follows industry development trends and continuously increases investment in technology R&D and equipment manufacturing. The Phase II project will focus on enhancing capabilities in new product development, complete machine joint debugging, and factory testing, providing ample production space and supporting conditions for the R&D and manufacturing of more intelligent equipment and automated production lines. It will address the capacity bottleneck from R&D prototype to mass delivery, better meeting customers' diverse and customized intelligent manufacturing needs.

Leveraging the Phase II carrier, Zhontian Intelligent will increase R&D investment, deepen industry-academia-research collaboration, and continue to make breakthroughs in key technologies for marine engineering equipment automation and digitalization. It will promote the coordinated improvement of manufacturing capacity and core technological capabilities, accelerating the formation of a more complete industrial development system for intelligent equipment.

The Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone is a national demonstration zone for marine economic development and a national-level innovative industrial cluster for marine equipment. It has formed a pattern featuring leading enterprises, a complete chain, and a well-developed industrial ecosystem. The accelerated growth of a group of intelligent manufacturing enterprises, including Zhontian Intelligent, is helping the free trade zone speed up the construction of a world-class R&D and production base for advanced marine manufacturing equipment, contributing greater strength to promoting industrial upgrading and aiding the high-quality development of the real economy.
