Porcine Seneca virus disease is a viral infectious disease that primarily affects pigs, caused by Seneca virus A (SVA) belonging to the genus Senecavirus of the family Picornaviridae. The disease spreads mainly through contact transmission and can cause vesicular lesions on the snout and coronary band of the hooves in pigs. Clinically, it is difficult to distinguish from foot-and-mouth disease, swine vesicular disease, and vesicular stomatitis. The disease has been prevalent in countries including Canada, Brazil, and the United States.
