On November 4, the launch ceremony for autonomous driving applications during the 15th National Games and Paralympic Games was held at Tianhe Sports Center in Guangzhou. During the event, DiDi Autonomous Driving was officially designated as an "Autonomous Driving Service Provider," authorized to operate self-driving services in Guangzhou throughout the games. Under regulatory guidance, DiDi's autonomous vehicles will offer safe and convenient transportation for spectators, guests, media personnel, volunteers, and residents.
Aligned with the vision of a "Tech-Enabled National Games," over 300 autonomous vehicles will be deployed across Guangzhou to provide services including shuttle buses, ride-hailing, sanitation cleaning, and logistics. DiDi’s self-driving fleet features a full-stack proprietary software and hardware system, ensuring multi-layered safety redundancy through high-performance sensors, onboard autonomous systems, remote assistance, and deep compatibility with mass-produced vehicle models.
"We are honored to participate in this milestone initiative, which reflects both recognition and responsibility," said Wang Yue, Vice President of DiDi Autonomous Driving and General Manager of its service division. She emphasized DiDi’s commitment to responsible technological innovation and gradual advancement of autonomous mobility. The company has optimized its technology and services specifically for the games’ transportation needs. Moving forward, DiDi aims to strengthen collaboration with Guangzhou’s smart transportation ecosystem, supporting the city’s vision as a "City of Intelligent Vehicles" and expanding smart mobility to broader scenarios.
