Tongcheng Travel has announced its upcoming full integration into the WeChat AI assistant ecosystem, positioning itself as one of the first online travel agencies (OTAs) to join this platform.
Moving forward, users will be able to utilize voice commands or text input within the WeChat AI assistant to articulate their travel needs. The artificial intelligence will then handle itinerary planning, enabling users to compare, decide on, and book various travel products.
The integration will encompass Tongcheng Travel's core booking services for flights, train tickets, hotels, attraction tickets, and vacation packages into the WeChat AI ecosystem.
Furthermore, over 3,200 hotels under Tongcheng Travel's associated brands, including Yilong Hotel Technology and Wanda Hotels & Resorts, will also be fully connected to the WeChat AI assistant.
In practical application, when a user issues a booking command, the WeChat AI assistant will access Tongcheng Travel's services. It will then analyze factors such as pricing trends, travel dates, budget constraints, and hotel locations to recommend various options for flights, train tickets, hotels, and vacation products.
Industry observers note that as a strategic partner deeply embedded within the Tencent ecosystem, Tongcheng Travel has previously collaborated with Tencent to develop travel services within the WeChat environment, leveraging its comprehensive supply chain and service system.
This new integration into the WeChat AI assistant ecosystem is expected to allow both companies to collaboratively create a novel, intelligent travel booking experience for users in the AI era.
