Stock News04-10

TRIUMPH NEW EN (01108) saw its shares surge by more than 19% at one point during the trading session, following a limit-up performance by its A-share counterpart. As of the time of writing, the stock was up 14.82%, trading at HK$4.26, with a turnover of HK$80.2039 million.

The movement comes amid reports that Apple is advancing its in-house AI hardware development and has begun testing advanced glass substrates for its AI server chip, codenamed "Baltra." The chip is expected to utilize TSMC's 3-nanometer N3E process technology and a chiplet architecture. In a strategy aimed at strengthening supply chain control, Apple is reportedly adopting a closed, "island-style" development approach and is directly evaluating the procurement of glass substrates from Samsung Electro-Mechanics.

Since the beginning of 2026, major industry players including Intel, Samsung, Apple, and TSMC have been making frequent moves to position themselves in this critical sector. According to industry analysis, the glass substrate sector is transitioning from the technical validation phase to early-stage mass production, with 2026 anticipated to be a milestone year for initial small-scale commercial shipments.

Data from market statistics indicate that there are a total of 22 A-share listed companies categorized as glass substrate concept stocks. Among these, TRIUMPH NEW EN is one of the stocks for which institutional analysts consistently forecast net profit growth rates exceeding 100% for both the current and the following year.
