Alxa Right Banner Testing Facility Secures CMA Accreditation

Deep News04-20

After more than three years of dedicated effort, the Alxa Right Banner Camel Series Products Inspection and Testing Center has recently obtained the Inspection and Testing Institution Qualification Certification (CMA), becoming the nation's first specialized statutory testing body for camel products. This achievement fills a gap in the domestic camel industry's specialized statutory testing sector, providing authoritative technical support for the high-quality development of the camel industry.

CMA certification represents China's mandatory market access system for inspection and testing institutions. Upon receiving this certification, the test reports issued by an institution carry legal force and can serve as authoritative evidence for regulatory enforcement and market transactions. Established in June 2022 with a total investment exceeding 16 million yuan, the Alxa Right Banner Camel Series Products Inspection and Testing Center is equipped with internationally advanced testing apparatus, including liquid chromatographs and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry systems. It has assembled a professional technical team and can currently conduct comprehensive testing across more than 40 indicators, issuing an authoritative "quality ID card" for each camel product.

The establishment of this testing center addresses the lack of testing capabilities for regional specialty products. It will provide authoritative technical support for market supervision, effectively strengthen quality control across the entire supply chain, standardize market order, enhance product credibility, and promote the standardized and branded development of the camel industry. The acquisition of the CMA certification further refines the entire industrial chain layout for the camel industry, described as "government + research + enterprise + testing + cooperative + farmers and herders," building a bridge for tripartite quality governance among the government, enterprises, and agricultural and pastoral communities. As the country's first specialized statutory testing institution for camel products, it provides a replicable model for the standardized and regulated development of the national camel industry.

This development is a crucial step for the standardized growth of the camel industry, reinforcing the technical core for the "Hometown of Chinese Camel Milk" and addressing the industry's specific testing void. The establishment of this institution solidifies the technical foundation for the high-quality development of the local camel industry.

As the "Hometown of Chinese Camel Milk" and a core production area for Bactrian camels nationally, Alxa Right Banner maintains a stable camel population of approximately 80,000 heads, including 39,500 breeding female camels. By 2025, the banner's camel milk output is projected to reach 15,000 tons, with the comprehensive output value of the entire camel industry chain expected to exceed 2.5 billion yuan. Currently, there are 114 breeding cooperatives and 5 leading enterprises, forming a complete, integrated industrial chain encompassing breeding, processing, and sales. This industry has become a pillar for driving rural revitalization and increasing the income of farmers and herders. The long-standing absence of specialized statutory testing support for camel products had hindered the pace of industrial standardization and branding. The acquisition of this qualification effectively resolves this developmental bottleneck.

The center undertakes regular government supervision and sampling inspections, implements the mandatory pre-shipment testing requirement for all camel products leaving the banner, provides statutory testing support for geographical indications and organic certifications, and utilizes testing data to promote the implementation of industry and local standards. Building on the existing testing capabilities for camel milk and camel meat, the center plans to gradually expand horizontally to include testing for deep-processed products like camel milk health supplements and extend vertically to cover rapid testing of feed at the breeding stage and raw milk, continuously leveraging the empowering role of testing.
