Black Cat Complaints released its July corporate complaint handling rankings, with data sourced from the platform itself. As of end of July 2026, the platform had accumulated over 37.48 million valid consumer complaints, with nearly 750,000 in July alone. To more precisely reflect complaint resolution across various consumer sectors, the rankings include industry-specific lists as well as a "most-watched" category based on recent hot topics, offering consumers valuable reference points.
Key issue: Kugou auto-debited for over six months without any notification
Kugou, Yunshiting Jiguang, Migu, Huawei TV, and Renren Video were listed on the July blacklist for the audio and video streaming sector. A consumer reported that after subscribing to a one-month membership on Kugou, they rarely used the app. Later, upon checking WeChat billing records, they discovered a monthly auto-debit of 15 yuan had been occurring for over six months, totaling an extra 135 yuan. The consumer stated they never received any reminder about the charges, could not cancel auto-renewal within the app, and had to do so via WeChat, arguing the platform concealed the charges and violated their right to know. The complaint remains under processing.
