The golden autumn brings refreshing breezes and branches laden with ripe fruit. The 2026 China Farmers' Harvest Festival and the Shapotou Dry Apple brand promotion event in Shapotou District of Zhongwei City, Ningxia, recently concluded. The event featured one main venue and two sub-venues in Xuanhe Town and Yingshuiqiao Town, using the harvest as a medium, industry as the foundation, culture and tourism as wings, and digital intelligence as empowerment. A series of linked activities were carried out, including brand promotion, folk performances, employment empowerment, farming experiences, and food exhibitions, jointly celebrating the harvest and drawing a new blueprint for rural revitalization.
The main venue was filled with a lively atmosphere, with brand empowerment helping farmers increase income. Since the beginning of this year, Shapotou District has firmly upheld the bottom line of food security, studied and applied the experience of the Thousand Villages Demonstration and Ten Thousand Villages Improvement project, and continued to strengthen the core brand of Shapotou Dry Apple. Through variety improvement, quality enhancement, brand building, and chain extension, dry apples have become golden fruits of prosperity. The event used special promotions, on-site displays, and online-offline linkages to raise brand awareness, expand sales channels, and promote the standardized, branded, and scaled development of specialty agriculture.
The Xuanhe Town sub-venue, themed Computing Power Park, Good Employment, Cloud Zhongwei Welcomes the Harvest, focused on digital economy empowering rural areas. Special job fairs, digital intelligence-themed exhibitions, and skills challenges were held simultaneously, with 35 recruitment booths and 33 enterprises offering positions in operations and security, customer service, and property management, building a doorstep employment platform. Sitcom programs and kuaiban performances showcased the transformation from traditional agriculture to smart agriculture and from traditional farmers to digital blue-collar workers. Skills challenges such as network cable making and drone simulated flight helped farmers secure digital饭碗 and achieve an upgrade to skills-based employment and digital employment.
The Yingshuiqiao Town sub-venue, themed Harvest on the Sandy Slopes of the Frontier, Culture and Tourism Benefit the People Celebrate the Harvest, focused on the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism. Majestic gongs and drums, Hua'er singing, folk music performances, and classical dance were staged in turn, while food and specialty agricultural product markets held concentrated sales. Fun farming competitions such as corn shelling, carrying grain with shoulder poles, and ring-tossing agricultural products were held, along with sandy slope treasure hunts and multiple rounds of lucky draws. The selection of popular homestays and recognition of the top ten specialty foods activated rural cultural tourism formats, turning scenery into industry and popularity into wealth.
At this harvest festival, all venues worked together with many highlights, comprehensively showcasing the results of increased agricultural efficiency, higher farmer incomes, and a more beautiful countryside. Next, Shapotou District will continue to deeply cultivate specialty agriculture, strengthen brand advantages, deepen the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism, and unleash the momentum of the digital economy, writing a new chapter of rural revitalization with strong agriculture, beautiful rural areas, and prosperous farmers.
