TIANYU SEMI (02658) rose over 10% against the broader market trend. As of writing, the stock was up 10.25% to HKD 47.96, with a turnover of HKD 3.8829 million.
In February of this year, TIANYU SEMI formally entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with EYEQ Lab Inc., a leading South Korean third-generation semiconductor company. The partnership will focus on the supply and application of silicon carbide (SiC) epitaxial wafers, aiming to establish a long-term and stable strategic alliance to jointly enhance the global supply chain layout for third-generation semiconductors.
Public information indicates that EYEQ Lab is a leader in the South Korean SiC power semiconductor sector. The company previously received investment from Patron, a Samsung subsidiary. Samsung Electronics is also actively expanding its business in the SiC power semiconductor field, having internally established a new SiC power semiconductor team and appointed Hong Seok-joon, a former director of ON Semiconductor, as vice president to oversee related operations.
