On important news in the baijiu industry, a food and beverage sector weekly research report from Aijian Securities pointed out that during this year's Mid-Autumn Festival, baijiu demand was mainly driven by gift-giving, while the National Day holiday was more focused on wedding banquets and gatherings among relatives and friends, relatively less affected by the contraction in business demand. Therefore, the decline in industry sell-through during the National Day period is expected to be smaller than during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The report believes that current baijiu demand has not yet shown a trend-level recovery, but channel inventory pressure has eased somewhat, wholesale prices are gradually stabilizing, and sell-through resilience is relatively stronger for mass-priced products and leading premium brands. As the interim reporting season ends and liquor companies' performance pressure is gradually released, the low-base effect in the second half of the year becomes more pronounced, and more liquor companies' sell-through and financial reporting year-on-year performance are expected to improve. In the long run, the industry's continued volume control and price stabilization will help drive wholesale prices higher, and the clearing process is gradually approaching the bottom. In terms of positioning, the brokerage recommends prioritizing high-quality leading companies with strong earnings certainty, including Kweichow Moutai Co.,Ltd. (600519), Wuliangye, and Shanxi Fenjiu.
