Dalian Unveils 50 AI Application Scenarios

Deep News03-31

Recently, the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology released a list of 50 artificial intelligence application scenarios for the city. The scenarios comprise 15 needs submitted by enterprises across various industries, 20 solutions that can be provided by AI-related companies, and 15 exemplary integration cases already implemented in Dalian. The Bureau stated that it hopes relevant organizations will further their work in areas such as scenario application deployment, capability enhancement, and collaboration, collectively exploring new pathways and models for AI to empower numerous industries and fostering a distinctive AI industry ecosystem in Dalian.

Among the 15 listed scenario needs are several civilian applications. These include a demand for an "AI Travel Assistant," which calls for building a local culture and tourism vector database supporting Chinese, Japanese, English, and Korean, covering over 10,000 points of interest like attractions and dining. It requires integration with multiple large language models for multimodal interaction, support for high concurrent access, and weekly functional iterations. Another need is for the "Application of Wearable Brain-Computer Interfaces in Rehabilitation Therapy," focusing on devices for patients with stroke or spinal cord injuries. Requirements include high signal acquisition precision, recognition accuracy, fast response times, lightweight equipment, and long-term stability, with an aim to improve rehabilitation efficiency by over 20% and promote neuroplasticity. Additional needs involve "Nursing Assistive Robots" to help transfer patients and "AI Translation Devices for Airport Terminals" supporting 35 languages and 2 dialects. Industrial demands, such as for intelligent inspection in automotive manufacturing, were also prominent.

The 20 provided solutions are highly diverse. One local enterprise has developed a job-seeking platform centered around applicants, designing five AI agents to offer full-process services from career planning to skill enhancement. These include an agent for aggregating job postings, another for career planning that simulates a consultant, a recommendation agent, an application agent for resume optimization, and a mock interviewer agent that assesses both hard and soft skills. Other solutions address specific areas like drone-based environmental monitoring for the low-altitude economy, omnichannel AI call centers, multimodal large models for agriculture, a materials cloud platform, and an industrial big data decision-making platform.

The 15 integration cases showcase significant achievements. One project, "Food Intelligent Inspection Robots Based on Humanoid Dual-Arm Robots," innovatively combines manual techniques with automation, establishing a command set for high-precision, coordinated hand-eye operations and intelligent inspection planning, enabling full automation and data traceability. Other cases include an AI system for manufacturing equipment management and fault diagnosis, AI-based steel plate number recognition, an intelligent road crack detection system for campuses, an AI solution for discrete manufacturing, a vision-based flexible assembly robot production line, and an AI-enhanced smart cockpit system for buses.
