All-Electric Mini Escalade! Cadillac VISTIQ Appears in Regulatory Filing

Deep News12-09

Cadillac's new full-size all-electric SUV, the VISTIQ, has surfaced in China's latest regulatory filing from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The vehicle adopts Cadillac's signature EV design language, featuring a sleek yet futuristic aesthetic.

Key design elements include a prominent blacked-out shield grille with the brand emblem at the center, flanked by sharp split-type LED headlights for high visibility. The sculpted hood with pronounced character lines enhances its sporty appeal.

The VISTIQ offers both single-tone and dual-tone exterior color options, along with hidden door handles. It rides on 22-inch wheels equipped with Brembo’s custom six-piston brake calipers and FNC-treated carbon-nitride brake discs. The rear features vertically stacked taillights for a distinctive look.

Measuring 5,222 mm in length, 2,026 mm in width, and 1,795–1,799 mm in height, with a 3,094 mm wheelbase, the VISTIQ slots between the LYRIQ (sold as the IQ Rui Ge in China) and the Escalade IQ. It adopts a 2+2+2 six-seat layout, balancing spaciousness and luxury.

For reference, the overseas 2026 VISTIQ variant measures slightly wider (2,203 mm) and taller (1,804 mm) but shares the same wheelbase.

Inside, Cadillac touts the VISTIQ as the industry’s first model with an AKG + Dolby 7.1.4 surround sound speaker array, paired with L2++ Momenta advanced driver-assistance systems.

Powertrain options include single- and dual-motor configurations. The single-motor variant delivers 255 kW, while the dual-motor setup offers 183 kW (front) and 260 kW (rear), both powered by ternary lithium batteries.

Overseas models feature a 33-inch curved display, a button-free dashboard with an 8-inch floating touch panel, and a 23-speaker AKG Studio audio system. The global version also uses a dual-motor setup (458.6 kW combined, 880 N·m torque) with a 102 kWh battery, offering 491 km EPA-rated range.

Cadillac showcased its "LOVE EV Family" at the Shanghai Auto Show, comprising the LYRIQ-V, OPTIQ, VISTIQ, and ESCALADE IQ, spanning mid-size to full-size SUV segments. The VISTIQ’s regulatory filing signals its imminent launch, filling Cadillac’s gap in the full-size EV SUV market.

Upon release, it will compete with models like the AITO M9 EV, Beijing Mercedes EQE SUV, and FAW Audi e-tron. However, the increasingly crowded premium EV SUV segment poses challenges for the VISTIQ’s market success.

As a key U.S. luxury brand, Cadillac’s current lineup includes SUVs (GT4, XT4–XT6), sedans (CT4–CT6), and EVs (IQ Rui Ge, OPTIQ). Sales data shows the CT5 as its top seller (33,732 units Jan–Nov), followed by the XT5 (32,924), while other models trail below 10,000 units.

The automotive sector remains highly competitive, with frequent new launches testing Cadillac’s ability to carve out a niche for the VISTIQ.
