On January 21, Tencent's Director of Public Relations Zhang Jun posted an article commemorating the 15th anniversary of WeChat: Today marks WeChat's 15th anniversary. At 15 years old, it is still a teenager. I can still see that never-fading youthful spirit in every WeChat colleague; some have receding hairlines, some are bald, some have heads full of white hair... Despite often being constrained by various factors, they never complain, but instead go back and diligently write code. This brings to mind the image on WeChat's startup screen—each of us is lonely, but because of WeChat, we connect with each other and are no longer alone. And WeChat, in turn, becomes better because of us!
Fifteen years ago today, on January 21, 2011, WeChat released its version 1.0 beta. According to official statistics, the number of users who now enter "Moments" and post to "Moments" daily has increased to 780 million and 120 million, respectively.
