China Southern Airlines' Cargo Unit to Acquire Boeing Aircraft

The freight subsidiary of China Southern Airlines Company Limited (ASX: ZNH) has entered into an agreement to purchase new aircraft from Boeing.

On June 26, 2026, China Southern Air Cargo, the wholly-owned subsidiary of China Southern Airlines Logistics Co., Ltd., signed a deal with Boeing to acquire two B777F aircraft and five B777-8F aircraft, with an option to purchase three additional B777-8F aircraft.

The list price for the two B777F and five B777-8F planes is approximately US$3.618 billion. If the option for the three extra B777-8F aircraft is exercised, the total value would be around US$5.240 billion. Based on an exchange rate of 1 US dollar to 6.8166 Chinese yuan, this equates to approximately 35.719 billion yuan.

The stated list prices include both the airframes and engines.
