On the evening of November 12, leading photovoltaic company Ja Solar Technology Co., Ltd. issued a clarification announcement. The company stated that its board secretary had not made the alleged remarks at any internal or external meetings. The circulated content was identified as online misinformation, which severely misled public perception and harmed the reputation of both the company and the industry. Ja Solar reserved the right to pursue legal action against those spreading false information.
The announcement emphasized that recent unverified claims about Ja Solar Technology had drawn unwarranted attention. The company urged investors, partners, and the public to refer only to official disclosures via regulatory-designated channels or its own platforms, advising against spreading rumors to maintain a healthy market and public discourse.
Earlier in the day, the China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA) released a statement addressing similar misinformation. The CPIA clarified that it and industry players were collaboratively advancing ongoing initiatives and dismissed speculative rumors circulating online. The association reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding national and industry interests, vowing to counter malicious attempts to manipulate or short the sector through false narratives.
A screenshot accompanying the CPIA statement suggested unverified claims that Ja Solar's board secretary had disclosed the collapse of a silicon and module alliance plan during a strategy meeting.
