South Korean Court Bars Two Ex-Samsung Staff from Joining SK Hynix

A South Korean court has partially granted Samsung Electronics Co's request to prevent two former NAND flash memory design employees from working for SK Hynix Inc.

The Suwon District Court has ordered that the two former Samsung employees are prohibited from working for SK Hynix or its affiliated companies until April 30, 2027.

Samsung had sought to enforce a two-year non-compete agreement; however, the court reduced this period to 18 months.

The court stated that the NAND flash design technology in question qualifies as a national core technology.

The two employees had worked in Samsung's memory division for approximately 10 to 11 years before moving to SK Hynix in February of this year.
