Data released by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on August 8th shows that during the first half of this year, the province's agricultural exports totaled 4.32 billion yuan, marking a 5.9% year-on-year increase. Among these, exports of dried and fresh fruits and nuts reached 470 million yuan, up 18.9%.
Recently, 1,200 boxes of Longquanyi honey peaches were shipped from the Longquanyi District in Chengdu. Using a "full-truck express plus direct origin delivery" model, they reached the shelves of Hong Kong's ParknShop supermarket chain within 48 hours. Fresh peaches are highly perishable with a short shelf life, which was once the biggest challenge for export sales. Under the traditional model, it took five days for honey peaches to travel from the orchards in Longquanyi to Hong Kong store shelves. Now, this cycle has been compressed to just 48 hours.
Luo Miao, Business Manager of Hi-Green·Chengdu, explained that Shenzhen Agricultural Power Group Co., Ltd. has established a "nationwide network" supply chain coordination system. On the production end, Hi-Green·Chengdu has gone deep into the core production areas of Longquanyi, establishing grading and packaging standards that meet export requirements. On the distribution end, Hi-Green·Shenzhen leverages its port logistics and channel advantages in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, using a cross-regional collaboration model of "origin organization + destination connection" to ensure the quality transfer of fresh peaches from orchard to consumer basket within 48 hours.
The journey of the peach export not only reflects the acceleration of Sichuan's agricultural exports but also signifies a supply chain upgrade. Li Weibo, President of the Chengdu Longquanyi Honey Peach Industry Association, noted that in the past, Sichuan fruit exports competed on "whether it tastes good." Now, capabilities such as IP customization, cultural empowerment, and scenario matching are becoming key variables determining export premiums.
Beyond honey peaches, other Sichuan fruits like Xichang Sunshine Rose grapes, Huili soft-seed pomegranates, and Pujiang kiwifruit are replicating similar supply routes to Hong Kong. The growth point for Sichuan's agricultural exports is shifting from simply "growing well" in the fields to full-chain operational capabilities encompassing research and development, design, branding, and channels.
"Export is a long-distance race that requires continuous investment and optimization. Enterprises play a crucial role in this process," said a representative from the Exchange and Cooperation Office of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. The province is cultivating 10 leading export-oriented high-quality entities each year, supporting processing and trade leading enterprises.
Data shows that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Sichuan's agricultural export value grew from 6.1 billion yuan in 2021 to 8.55 billion yuan in 2025, an increase of 40.2%. The "Action Plan for Sichuan's Specialty Agricultural Products to Go Out of the Province and Go Abroad (2026-2030)" sets a clear goal of striving for the province's agricultural export value to exceed 10 billion yuan by the end of 2027.
