CHK OIL Proposes Appointment of New Auditor

Stock News06-01

CHK OIL (HKEX: 00632) has announced that Foo & Martz Certified Public Accountants Limited has served as the company's independent auditor since June 2020.

The board believes that, as part of sound corporate governance practices, the company should consider rotating its independent auditor after a suitable period.

Consequently, the board proposes that Foo & Martz step down as the independent auditor, effective upon the conclusion of the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for June 26, 2026.

Following a recommendation from the company's audit committee, the board proposes to appoint Kwok Wai CPA Limited as the company's auditor to fill the vacancy arising from Foo & Martz's retirement.

In accordance with the company's articles of association, the proposed appointment of Kwok Wai CPA Limited as auditor is subject to approval by the company's shareholders via an ordinary resolution at the forthcoming AGM.

Pending shareholder approval at the AGM and the completion of Kwok Wai's client acceptance procedures, Kwok Wai CPA Limited will serve as the company's auditor until the next AGM.
