Residents of high-rise buildings in Changchun are raising alarms over hallways blocked by piled-up杂物, posing severe fire hazards. Mr. Wang, a resident of Qingyang Huafu in Erdao District, reported that his building’s corridors are nearly impassable due to堆积如山的杂物, including废旧家具, cardboard boxes, and plastic bottles—all highly flammable materials.
On December 10, an inspection of the 33-story building revealed critical blockages between floors 19–21 and 29–31, where narrow pathways barely remained. Elevator lobbies were similarly cluttered. "With hundreds of households here, a fire could trap us all," Wang warned, adding that repeated complaints to property management yielded only temporary fixes.
The issue spans multiple communities, including Rongchuang Yangpu No. 1 and Jubao Jiayuan. Residents acknowledge the risks but cite habits and侥幸心理. "Everyone囤积杂物—vegetables, recyclables—until a spark turns it deadly," said Mr. Li from Jubao Jiayuan.
Property managers like Vanke’s local office emphasized persistent劝导 efforts but admitted limited enforcement power. "We prioritize education and协作 with消防部门," said a staff member. Meanwhile, Qingyan Community has launched joint inspections with fire authorities and police, pairing warnings with assistance for relocation.
Experts stress that clearing these "lifelines" demands stricter oversight, interdepartmental coordination, and resident accountability. Campaigns now target awareness via door-to-door outreach and public notices, urging collective action for safer living spaces.
