China Shenhua Energy Reports a 3.3% Rise in Coal Sales Volume for the First Five Months

China Shenhua Energy Company Limited (ASX: 01088) has released an operational update, revealing its coal production and sales figures for May and the cumulative period from January to May.

In May 2026, the company's commercial coal output reached 41.7 million tonnes, marking a decrease of 4.1% compared to the same period last year. Conversely, its coal sales volume for the month was 50.5 million tonnes, reflecting a significant increase of 11.7% year-on-year.

For the first five months of the year, cumulative commercial coal production stood at 207 million tonnes, down 4.0% from the corresponding period in the previous year. The total coal sales volume for this period reached 249.7 million tonnes, representing a growth of 3.3% compared to the prior year.
