Nanjing Welcomes New 500 Million Yuan Robotics Venture Breaking Ground

A fresh manufacturing initiative has officially launched in Nanjing's Lishui district, signaling continued momentum for the region's industrial development. Nanjing Tuolingzhi Automation Technology Co., Ltd. has commenced construction on a facility designed to produce 500 welding robots and 500 CNC machine tools annually, along with related components. Established in February 2026, the company is focused on intelligent manufacturing, developing and selling smart foundational equipment, CNC machinery, industrial robots, and automation control systems, while also engaging in the production of machine tool components and precision parts.

The project represents a total investment of 510 million yuan, with 100 million yuan allocated for completion during 2026. The construction plan covers a new building area of approximately 30,000 square meters and includes the acquisition of 150 units of high-precision production equipment, such as gantry machining centers, five-axis linkage systems, and CNC bending machines. The facility is expected to reach full operational status by 2027, generating a stable annual output of 500 welding robot sets and 500 CNC machine tool units. Once at capacity, the project is projected to deliver an average yearly output value of 200 million yuan, solidifying its economic and industrial contributions.

Lishui district serves as a core component of Nanjing's "Southern Smart Manufacturing Corridor" and stands as a key advanced manufacturing hub for the city. The high-end equipment sector in Lishui is currently experiencing robust growth, with multiple projects advancing in tandem. Alongside the newly launched Tuolingzhi initiative, the district is witnessing significant progress on other major smart manufacturing ventures. A 1 billion yuan investment from Nanjing Ningchuang is underway for a smart factory that will incorporate 110 units of advanced machinery, including laser cutters, CNC bending machines, and robotic welding arms. Additionally, the East China headquarters base for Nanjing Julang Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. is slated for full completion by December of this year, which will bring an annual capacity of 3,000 precision CNC machine tools to the area.

The sequential rollout of these high-end equipment projects is poised to strengthen Lishui's manufacturing ecosystem by addressing industry gaps and expanding the supply chain. The Tuolingzhi project, in particular, is expected to enhance the district's industrial integration, boosting the overall competitiveness and influence of its high-end equipment sector.

Industry data from the China Industrial Robot Market Vitality Report indicates that domestic-brand industrial robots have broadened their applications to cover 253 categories within the national economy, exceeding half of all industry classifications. This reflects a growing trend toward domestic substitution and widespread adoption across sectors. Analysts from the China Commercial Industry Research Institute forecast steady expansion in the global industrial robot market, projecting a value of 112.9 billion yuan in 2025 and climbing to 126.3 billion yuan by 2026. Such market scale and growth potential are set to drive collaborative advancements across the robotics supply chain, including R&D, component manufacturing, and intelligent CNC systems.
