South Korean Government and AMD Hold Follow-up Talks on AI Chip Cooperation

Deep News09:23

South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT announced that the South Korean government and U.S. chip giant Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) convened a steering committee meeting in Seoul on Wednesday to discuss the artificial intelligence (AI) chip cooperation agreement the two sides signed earlier this year.

This meeting served as a follow-up measure to implement a memorandum of understanding signed by both parties in July. Under that memorandum, the two sides agreed to cooperate in establishing an AI research center and building heterogeneous computing infrastructure capable of connecting various types of AI chips.

Meanwhile, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) also hosted a technology event in Seoul called the "Advancing AI World Tour," marking the first time this event has been held in Seoul. The event attracted approximately 1,300 advance registrations; South Korean companies that have established cooperative relationships with AMD in the AI computing infrastructure sector, including LG Electronics, also participated in the event.
