Xi'an, a major science and technology hub in Shaanxi Province, is seeing a wave of key technology projects accelerate their landing, spanning from new energy vehicle electric drives and metal additive manufacturing to power semiconductors, intelligent remanufacturing and AI-driven human digitization, reflecting the city's development path of using technological innovation to lead industrial innovation and leveraging chain-leading enterprises to drive coordination across entire industrial chains.
"From chip design to wafer manufacturing and module packaging and testing, Longteng Semiconductor is accelerating the improvement of its power semiconductor industry chain layout," said Zhang Xin, Vice President of Longteng Semiconductor Co., Ltd., in an interview on the 28th.
Since the beginning of this year, Xi'an has adhered to the principle of "projects first, practical action as the priority," focusing on cultivating new quality productive forces and optimizing industrial structure, and systematically advancing the full-chain closed-loop operation of key projects from planning and reserving to construction and management.
From January to September this year, the city's 313 municipal-level key projects under construction completed an investment of 76.39 billion yuan, reaching 76.3% of the annual target; 205 provincial-level key projects completed an investment of 57.75 billion yuan, with an investment completion rate of 87.73%, exceeding the scheduled pace by 12.73 percentage points. The supporting foundation of industrial projects for economic development has been further consolidated.
In the semiconductor sector, Xi'an has developed advantages characterized by "globally leading memory chips, full-chain coordination in power semiconductors, and distinctive strengths in photonic chips." From January to September this year, the output value of Xi'an's large-scale semiconductor enterprises exceeded 70 billion yuan, accounting for more than 58% of the electronic information industry.
Longteng Semiconductor, as a chain-leading enterprise in Shaanxi Province's key semiconductor and integrated circuit industry chain, has built the first 8-inch power semiconductor wafer mass production line in Northwest China, with a monthly wafer production capacity of 15,000 pieces; its independently developed super-junction G3 process platform technology has reached an internationally advanced level, and its automotive-grade power devices have passed AEC-Q101 certification.
Once the two key projects reach full production, the annual output value is expected to be approximately 6 billion yuan. The company is playing its role as a chain leader, connecting materials, equipment, packaging and testing, and application segments within the province, collaborating with universities on frontier preliminary research, and promoting "Xi'an chips" from the design end to the large-scale manufacturing end.
The orientation toward technological self-reliance and self-strengthening is reflected in multiple projects. Xinpai Technology has maintained a 20-year record of zero product complaints and is extending into the unmanned systems sector; BLT is deeply engaged in industrial-grade metal additive manufacturing, with operating revenue growing 15.46% year-on-year in the first half of 2026; Tianyuan Intelligent Remanufacturing uses intelligent detection and additive equipment to tap the residual value of components, improving detection efficiency by 40% to 50%; and Weisu Intelligence, relying on the "Kuafu Large Model," is pushing AI-driven human digitization products into 106 countries worldwide.
As a group of key projects accelerate construction and production, Xi'an's technology industry chain is rapidly taking shape, accumulating strong momentum for the city's steady economic progress and quality improvement, as well as for enhancing the backup capacity of the country's important industrial chains.
