Wuliangye's Pu Wu 8th Generation Leads Gains as Baijiu Big-Ticket Items Edge Up from Lows

Deep News08-02

Data from the past 24 hours shows that the total terminal retail price of major baijiu single products in the Chinese market stabilized at a low level on August 2. If one bottle of each major product is sold as a bundled package, the total price today is 9,872 yuan, a slight increase of 1 yuan from yesterday, halting the decline after falling back to nearly a ten-day low.

Throughout the session, trading sentiment at the terminal market remained cautious, with buyers and sellers continuing to wrestle at low levels. The total price continued its narrow range-bound consolidation pattern. Among the 11 major baijiu products today, three rose, seven fell, and one was flat. While the number of losers clearly outnumbered winners, the combined gains of the rising products narrowly exceeded the total losses by a margin of 1 yuan.

On the upside, Wuliangye Yibin Co.,Ltd.'s Pu Wu 8th Generation led the gains, surging 10 yuan per bottle, marking its largest single-day increase in nearly a month. This snapped a five-day losing streak and initiated a recovery from its lowest price level since the data began in November last year. Xijiu Junpin rose 7 yuan per bottle, extending gains for a second consecutive day and hitting its highest price since May 19 of this year. Jingpin Moutai increased by 2 yuan per bottle, recording a second consecutive rise and approaching the 2,400 yuan mark once again.

On the downside, Gujing Gonggu 20 led the declines, falling 5 yuan per bottle. Guojiao 1573 dropped 4 yuan per bottle, and Qinghua Lang declined 3 yuan per bottle. Feitian Moutai and Wuliangye 1618 both fell 2 yuan per bottle. The former continues its consolidation pattern at elevated levels following its July 18 price hike. Yanghe Dream Blue M6+ and Shuijing Jiannanchun both slipped 1 yuan per bottle, with the latter marking a near one-month low after two consecutive days of declines. Qinghua Fen 20 remained unchanged from yesterday.

The daily data from the baijiu price reference is sourced from approximately 200 collection points across major regions in China, including designated dealers, social distributors, e-commerce platforms, and retail outlets. The original sampling data captures actual transaction terminal retail prices from the past 24 hours, aiming to provide objective, scientific, and fully traceable market price information for baijiu big-ticket items. With the launch of the official iMoutai platform on New Year's Day, selling Feitian Moutai at 1,499 yuan per bottle (raised to 1,539 yuan per bottle on March 31, and further to 1,639 yuan per bottle on July 18), and Jingpin Moutai at 2,299 yuan per bottle from January 9 (raised to 2,359 yuan per bottle on May 16), the magnetic influence of this new channel on the average terminal retail prices of these two products is becoming increasingly evident. The daily price releases from the baijiu price reference follow a calculation rule weighted by actual transaction volumes, incorporating verifiable prices into the terminal retail price calculations for both products.

In other key news for the baijiu industry, according to a Friday report from "Renhuai Sauce Aroma," 360,000 mu of glutinous sorghum in Renhuai City are gradually entering the mature color-changing period. The annual large-scale raw material harvest season is about to begin. Leveraging the unique climate, water, and soil conditions of the local valley along with scientific farming practices, the overall growth of this year's Renhuai glutinous sorghum is stable. Grain plumpness and quality indicators have reached excellent standards, providing high-quality raw materials for the upcoming Chongyang Xiasha brewing process.
