In 2021, Tesla hired 28,533 employees worldwide, up 40.3 percent from 2020, with the new jobs mainly in Europe and China.Earlier this week, Musk said at the Qatar Economic Forum that Tesla will lay off 10 percent of its full-time workforce while increasing the number of part-time hourly employees, and that the overall workforce will be reduced by 3-3.5 percent.It is worth noting that on May 22, Tesla released recruitment information for more than 100 positions in the Shanghai R&D and Innovation Center, involving vehicle software, hardware design engineering, and power and energy engineering.
