Jiangxi's First and Only: Geyang High-Tech Park Becomes National 10G Optical Network Model with China Unicom's Support

Deep News04-28

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced a list of 136 projects nationwide that have completed pilot tasks for 10G optical networks. Among them, Jiangxi Geyang High-Tech Industrial Park successfully passed acceptance, becoming one of the country's first and Jiangxi Province's only pilot model for a "10G Park." With innovative technical support from China Unicom's Shangrao branch, a fully integrated wired and wireless 10G "information highway" has been established, injecting strong momentum into Jiangxi's new industrialization development.

Guided by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Jiangxi Communications Administration, China Unicom addressed the industrial needs of Geyang High-Tech Park by adopting new-generation information and communication technologies such as 50G-PON and WiFi7. Deeply integrated with China Unicom's "Tianzhi" AI platform, the project successfully overcame key technical barriers in intelligent security early warning and efficient production collaboration.

Leveraging the deep integration of 10G optical networks and AI technology, the park has achieved high-precision control and real-time collaboration in smart manufacturing. It supports the intelligent analysis of multiple 8K high-definition video streams within milliseconds through smart security systems, reducing energy consumption of equipment by 40%. This marks a leap from traditional manufacturing to AI-empowered operations, creating a replicable and scalable "10G Park" model for Jiangxi.

Located in central Shangrao, Geyang High-Tech Park is a provincial-level high-tech industrial park and serves as the core platform for industrial economic development in Geyang County. With the implementation of innovative applications such as VR/AR industrial simulation, digital twins, and AI quality inspection, the limitations of traditional gigabit networks in data transmission and device interconnection have become increasingly apparent.

By constructing a 10G optical network, China Unicom has connected all elements and processes of smart manufacturing, providing robust support for real-time industrial big data analysis and edge-based intelligent decision-making. This has significantly enhanced the digital capabilities of enterprises in critical areas such as procurement, production scheduling, and warehousing.

As a benchmark enterprise in the park, Jiangxi Conba Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has achieved full-process intelligent management through its "5G+Smart Factory" transformation. The company has improved delivery efficiency by over 20%, increased equipment utilization by 33%, and reduced both energy consumption and labor costs by 20%. Its digital maturity has advanced to Level 7.

The successful acceptance of the 10G optical network pilot at Geyang High-Tech Park exemplifies China Unicom's commitment to empowering industrial park digital transformation through technological innovation. It fully demonstrates the application value of integrating 10G optical networks with AI technology in the industrial sector.

Moving forward, China Unicom will continue to promote the scaling of 10G optical networks from pilot projects to large-scale deployment, leveraging digital and intelligent capabilities to support industrial upgrading, cultivate new quality productive forces, and provide a solid foundation for high-quality local economic development.
