Wang Yi noted that under the joint strategic guidance of leaders from both sides, China-ASEAN cooperation has yielded fruitful results. China has reached important consensus with eight ASEAN countries on jointly building a bilateral community with a shared future, with the construction of a community with a shared future in the surrounding region deepening and solidifying.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed that the South China Sea is the common home of regional nations. The South China Sea issue should not become an obstacle in China-ASEAN relations. China and ASEAN countries have the wisdom and capability to continue managing the South China Sea issue properly, ensuring that peace, stability, cooperation, and friendship become the mainstream narrative in the South China Sea.
