Year after year the Double Ninth Festival comes, and once again it is here. To promote the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation — respecting, honoring, loving, and helping the elderly — and to create a warm and harmonious festive atmosphere, on the occasion of the Double Ninth Festival, the Wenhuali Community of Yunwu Street organized a Double Ninth Festival cultural performance event, where residents of the district gathered joyfully, singing and dancing together to welcome the celebration.
The event site was lively and filled with warmth. Accompanied by cheerful music, the cultural performance officially began. Elderly performers from the district, dressed in matching outfits and radiating energy, confidently took the stage. Dynamic and graceful square dancing, festive and lively Yangge, and energetic fitness exercises — one down-to-earth and heartfelt performance after another took turns on stage, each shining with highlights. The melodious melodies and整齐 powerful movements fully demonstrated the spirit of elderly people in the new era — their love of life, healthy optimism, happiness in old age, and continued contribution — drawing rounds of applause from the residents on site.
"The performances were all self-written and self-performed by everyone, and watching them felt especially warm and familiar," said Auntie Li with a smile. "The community thinks of us elderly people every year, organizing everyone to gather together to watch performances and chat — it's livelier than the New Year," Uncle Wang also remarked with deep emotion.
"The event provided a stage for residents to showcase their talents, and further strengthened neighborly bonds and promoted community harmony," said the head of Wenhuali Community. "The community will continue to focus on the needs of the elderly, carry out more diverse cultural and sports activities that benefit the people, continuously enhance the happiness, sense of gain, and sense of belonging of elderly residents, and make every effort to foster a new community atmosphere of neighborly harmony and civilized goodness."
