LUK FOOK HOLD (00590) surged 8.04% during the intraday session on Monday, driven by robust interim financial results. The company reported a 25.6% year-on-year increase in revenue to HK$6.843 billion and a 42.5% rise in profit attributable to equity holders to HK$619 million.
The group's gross margin expanded by 2.0 percentage points to a record high of 34.7%, attributed to higher gold prices and an increased sales mix of higher-margin priced jewelry. Operating leverage further boosted the operating profit margin by 1.6 percentage points to 11.4%, lifting operating profit by 45.4% to HK$780 million. An interim dividend of HK$0.55 per share was also proposed.
