Tencent Upgrades AI Model R&D Structure with New AI Infra and Data Divisions

Tencent has announced an upgrade to its large-scale AI model research and development framework, establishing new divisions including AI Infra, AI Data, and Data Computing Platform to enhance its core capabilities in AI model development.

Vincesyao has been appointed as Chief AI Scientist of the "CEO/President Office," reporting directly to Tencent President Martin Lau. Additionally, Vincesyao will oversee both the AI Infra and Large Language Model divisions, reporting to Dowson Tong, President of the Technology Engineering Group.

The AI Infra division will play a critical role in Tencent's AI model ecosystem, focusing on building technical capabilities for model training and inference platforms. Key responsibilities include distributed training for large models, high-performance inference services, and establishing a competitive edge in AI infrastructure to support stable and efficient R&D and business applications.

Meanwhile, the newly structured AI Data and Data Computing Platform divisions will concentrate on data and evaluation systems for large models, as well as integrating big data with machine learning platforms. Wang Di continues as Deputy General Manager of the Large Language Model division, reporting to Vincesyao. Liu Yuhong leads the AI Data division, while Chen Peng heads the Data Computing Platform division, both reporting to Vice President Jiang Jie.
