Dong Xin has been appointed as Chairman and Party Secretary of China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd. (CHINA UNICOM). The decision was announced by a senior official from the Central Organization Department during a meeting attended by mid-level and above management personnel of the company.
The appointment, made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, also relieves Dong Xin of his previous positions as Deputy Director and Party Leadership Group Member of the State Administration of Radio and Television (SARFT). The personnel changes will be processed in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
