Ran Yingying shared on the variety show "Sister Boss 2" on August 1 that in 2010, after getting engaged to Zou Shiming, they had a quarrel, and she later discovered she was pregnant with their first son, Xuanxuan. She stated that she had simultaneously received job offers from both Phoenix TV and CCTV's financial channel. To prioritize having the child, she turned down these career opportunities and chose to marry Zou Shiming.
The couple held their wedding ceremony on February 5, 2011, and their eldest son, Zou Mingxuan, was born on June 27 of the same year. On the show, Zou Shiming revealed that all three of their sons were unplanned pregnancies, with no prior preparation for conception. Their first child was conceived during the Olympic preparation period.
Public records show that Zou Shiming is a former Chinese male boxer, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, and a former WBO (World Boxing Organization) flyweight world champion. He is one of the most influential athletes in Chinese boxing history. Ran Yingying, formerly a host on CCTV's Securities Information Channel, gradually stepped away from the spotlight after marriage to fully support her husband's career and manage household affairs.
The couple, who have three sons together, have long been regarded as a model sports couple. Recently, their marriage and financial issues have drawn attention due to their participation in "Sister Boss 2." In a previous episode, Ran Yingying's mother explicitly asked Zou Shiming to allow her daughter to pursue her own career, expressing concern that Ran Yingying might waste her decades of education and be reduced to being just the woman behind Zou Shiming. She emphasized that without a career, one loses oneself, and hoped the couple could stand on equal footing.
On the show, Zou Shiming said that Ran Yingying's participation was aimed at "removing the Zou Shiming label," and he fully supports her in shedding the identity of a boxer's wife. "She used to always be by my side, managing things and giving up her own career. It felt like I was holding her back, so I think she should shine," Zou Shiming stated.
Ran Yingying previously revealed on the show that she had started nearly 20 businesses, spanning sectors such as catering, women's clothing, and boxing gyms.
