Tianjin Port's Dedicated Freight Corridor Successfully Completes Rotation of Bridge Over Jinshan Railway

Deep News11-27

On November 26 at 8:50 AM, the double-deck rotating bridge over the Jinshan Railway, part of Tianjin Port Co.,Ltd.'s dedicated freight corridor and designed by China Railway Design Group Corporation (CRDC), achieved precise synchronous rotation after 70 minutes of operation. Each deck, weighing 14,000 tons, marked a breakthrough in the project, laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction.

The Tianjin Port freight corridor, a supporting project for the port, is built to a 10-lane expressway standard with a 51-meter-wide roadbed and a design speed of 80 km/h. CRDC was responsible for the bridge design at seven critical railway-crossing nodes along the route. The Jinshan Railway crossing employs two 65-meter rotating continuous beam bridges, with each deck rotating in opposite directions.

During construction, the massive concrete bridge decks, weighing tens of thousands of tons, rotated gracefully around the Jinshan Railway axis within a limited railway maintenance window, achieving centimeter-level precision—a real-world "aerial ballet." From the design phase, the project team meticulously simulated every detail, optimizing key parameters such as rotation angle, counterweight balance, and friction coefficient. Throughout construction, the team worked closely on-site with contractors to address potential challenges, ensuring a smooth rotation process.
