Ingenic Semiconductor (ASX: 03223) shares climbed nearly 8% in morning trading. As of press time, the stock was up 7.93% at HK$85.75, with turnover of HK$96.06428 million.
Ingenic Semiconductor released its third-quarter results, reporting revenue of RMB 3.145 billion for the period, up 164.85% year-on-year; net profit attributable to the parent was RMB 1.419 billion, up 2,595.49% year-on-year and up 61% quarter-on-quarter.
Ingenic Semiconductor stated that strong demand in the DRAM chip market and tight supply have driven continuous product price increases; demand in the Flash chip market continues to grow, and emerging fields such as AI servers are also driving demand for SRAM chips, leading to sustained significant growth in sales revenue from the company's memory chip product lines.
In addition, Ingenic Semiconductor released an announcement on its investor relations activity record, stating that the company is focusing on expanding in the NorFlash field and has already entered the supply chain of top-tier suppliers with the strongest demand in the AI server market, while conducting forward-looking research and development around AI storage to seize new opportunities.
On the supply side, the NorFlash capacity issue has been basically resolved, but DRAM capacity remains constrained, with new capacity expected to come online gradually only after 2027. Therefore, DRAM growth in 2027 may mainly come from price increases.
