On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the Nasdaq trading market in New York, USA, the company logo of Bending Spoons appeared at its IPO site.

In an article published on Wednesday, Morningstar said that Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B)'s new leader, Greg Abel, is "breaking into entirely new business territory" by investing in the Italian company Bending Spoons. Abel officially took over as chief executive in January of this year.

After investing US$600 million in July of this year in the Italian company known for continuously acquiring businesses and helping it list on Nasdaq, Abel led a new round of investment in Bending Spoons.

Morningstar analyst Gregory Warren wrote: "This marks the point at which Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B) has finally stepped outside its comfort zone and begun looking for new outlets to deploy its capital."

Morningstar pointed out that the investment has already begun to pay off. After news of Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B)'s additional investment was announced, the company's stock price rose for consecutive days; as of October 15, Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B)'s unrealized gain on this investment was close to 80%.
