UBS Group AG predicts the lithium market will face a supply shortage beginning in 2026 and has raised its spodumene price forecasts.
Analysts at UBS Group AG increased lithium demand projections by up to approximately 10% through 2030. They revised spodumene price estimates upward by 64% for 2026, 148% for 2027, and 94% for 2028.
UBS Group AG noted that price increases will trigger a supply-side response, though this process will take time. The growth in demand is primarily driven by battery energy storage systems.
