Shanghai Airports to Implement Summer-Autumn Flight Schedule from March 29

Shanghai International Airport Co.,Ltd. announced that from March 29 to October 24, 2026, the Shanghai airports will operate under the 2026 summer-autumn flight schedule. During the new season, the airports will focus on their role as a comprehensive international aviation hub, actively supporting airlines in adding and increasing flight frequencies. The daily average of scheduled flights is set at 2,516, representing a 2.8% year-on-year increase. This includes 1,730 flights at Pudong Airport and 786 flights at Hongqiao Airport. For international, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan flights, the daily average is planned at 772, up 1.8% year-on-year, with 726 flights at Pudong Airport and 46 at Hongqiao Airport. New routes to destinations such as Kolkata, India, and Tbilisi, Georgia, will be introduced, while frequencies to Istanbul, Turkey; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Hanoi, Vietnam; Singapore; Bangkok, Thailand; and Jeju, South Korea, will be increased, enhancing intercontinental connectivity and global reach. For domestic flights (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan), the daily average is scheduled at 1,744, a 3.2% year-on-year increase, comprising 1,004 flights at Pudong Airport and 740 at Hongqiao Airport. Flights to 34 destinations, including Changchun, Kunming, Chengdu, Jieyang, Dali, Guiyang, Dalian, and Xiamen, will be further increased to better meet public demand for diverse air travel options. During the new season, Shanghai airports will deepen strategic cooperation with China Eastern Airlines, focusing on popular markets such as Europe, Australia-New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia. China Eastern will launch several new international routes, including Shanghai to Adelaide, Australia; Mumbai, India; Dublin, Ireland; Cheongju, South Korea; Manado, Indonesia; Surabaya, Indonesia; Tbilisi, Georgia; Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; and Muscat, Oman, supporting the airline's goal of becoming a world-class super carrier and strengthening Shanghai's aviation hub connectivity and transfer functions. On March 30, two additional airlines, IndiGo and Air Astana, will begin operations at Shanghai airports. IndiGo will launch a daily direct flight from Shanghai to Kolkata, while Air Astana will operate three weekly direct flights from Shanghai to Almaty, building more efficient and convenient air bridges with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative.
