Following the controversy over seating arrangements, the organizers of the Weibo Night event issued another apology on February 7. They stated that around 2:00 PM on February 5, the seating and name tags had been accurately arranged according to the predetermined plan. However, during a subsequent review, staff mistakenly adjusted the name tags for Mr. Xiao Zhan and some other seats due to vacancies in the second row of the middle section, leading to changes in their positions. The issue was corrected promptly during the event. The organizers clarified that Ms. Yang Mi and her team were not involved in or interfered with any seat arrangements or name tag placements, and related online rumors are untrue. They apologized sincerely to Mr. Xiao Zhan, Ms. Yang Mi, and all affected artists and fans, promising to strengthen detail management to prevent similar issues in the future.
Previously, on February 5, the Weibo Night gala was held in Beijing. That evening, Yang Mi's studio publicly demanded an explanation from the organizers regarding the internal seating arrangement controversy, expressing surprise and frustration. Earlier that day, leaked seating charts showing discrepancies between the planned and actual seating led some netizens to accuse Yang Mi of contesting seats, making her and Xiao Zhan topics of online discussion. After the studio's statement, the official Weibo Night account apologized, attributing the issue to a pasting error by staff during a review of the pre-arranged venue. During the event, Yang Mi and Xiao Zhan were honored as "Weibo QUEEN" and "Weibo KING," respectively, with Yang Mi also receiving the "Weibo Annual Glory Actor" award.
