Xiaomi Faces Dual Patent Lawsuits in One Week from Bull and AUX

Deep News05-21 23:02

Recently, Xiaomi encountered two patent lawsuits within a single week, initiated separately by leading socket manufacturer Goneo Group Co.,Ltd. and home appliance giant AUX ELECTRIC. Both cases have been accepted by the Hangzhou Intermediate People's Court and are scheduled for hearings in late May 2026. Public records indicate that in mid-May, Xiaomi became involved in two significant patent disputes. On May 15, Goneo Group Co.,Ltd. filed a lawsuit against Xiaomi and its affiliated ecosystem companies, alleging that Mi-brand socket products infringe patents related to socket safety structures. This case is set for trial on May 21 and 22. Subsequently, AUX ELECTRIC also brought a lawsuit to court, claiming that several Xiaomi household air conditioner models infringe its core technology patents concerning energy efficiency and air duct design. This case is scheduled for a hearing on May 25. It has been noted that beyond these recent disputes, over the past several years, Xiaomi has frequently been involved in patent battles with competitors during its expansion into the home appliance sector. In response to the dense wave of patent litigation, Xiaomi has not merely been passively defending itself; it has also proactively filed applications with the National Intellectual Property Administration to invalidate relevant patents. Industry experts believe that as the home appliance sector enters a stage of competition for market share, market rivalry has moved beyond simple price competition, with technological patent contests becoming a core method for major brands to vie for market position.
