BYD ELECTRONIC Shares Drop Over 6% Following Earnings Report as Q1 Net Profit Plunges 95.53%

BYD ELECTRONIC (00285) fell more than 6% after releasing its quarterly results. At the time of writing, the stock was down 5.26%, trading at HKD 24.86, with a turnover of HKD 139 million. The company announced that for the first quarter of 2026, it achieved revenue of approximately RMB 38.183 billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.53%. Gross profit was approximately RMB 1.991 billion, down 14.35% compared to the same period last year. Profit attributable to owners of the parent company was RMB 27.83 million, a sharp decrease of 95.53% year-on-year. According to the announcement, the profit attributable to owners of the parent was impacted by exchange losses due to currency fluctuations. Furthermore, changes in the product mix also affected the overall gross margin and profit level to some extent.
