Friends, the "great miracle day" continues — how did you fare today? On November 5, the three major A-share indices opened lower but rallied to close higher across the board. By the closing bell, the Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.1%, the Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.19%, the ChiNext Index climbed 0.87%, the Beijing Stock Exchange 50 Index advanced 1.79%, and the STAR 50 Index gained 1.68%. Total market turnover reached 2.1351 trillion yuan, an increase of 83.2 billion yuan from the previous trading day, with more than 4,800 individual stocks rising across the market. In terms of sector themes, photovoltaic equipment, precious metals, film and cinema chains, AI corpus, and cultural media sectors led the gains, while oil and gas extraction and processing, oil and gas extraction and services, port shipping, banking, and components sectors lagged behind.

Semiconductor Sector Surges

Today, the photovoltaic equipment sector showed strong performance, with multiple stocks hitting the daily limit. On the news front, the Beijing Municipal People's Government recently issued the "Beijing 15th Five-Year Plan Period New Energy System Plan." It pointed out the need to expand photovoltaic technology innovation scenario applications. In addition, data from the National Energy Administration showed that in the third quarter of 2026, China added approximately 38.76GW of new photovoltaic installations, an increase of about 38% compared to 28.06GW in the same period of 2025. In September alone, new installations reached 13.64GW, up 41.2% year-on-year and 23.6% month-on-month, marking two consecutive months of positive year-on-year growth, indicating a recovery trend on the demand side. Galaxy Securities stated it is bullish on the photovoltaic "anti-involution" process accelerating to drive industry average prices higher, with high-power module manufacturers having clear advantages, products commanding premiums, and performance expected to turn profitable first.

Battery Sector Rises

Today, the BC battery sector rose 6.32%, the HJT battery sector gained 5.87%, with multiple stocks hitting the daily limit. The National Energy Administration's quarterly press conference disclosed that as of the end of September, the country's installed capacity of new-type energy storage in operation reached 167 million kilowatts/435 million kilowatt-hours, up 63% year-on-year; the average storage duration was 2.61 hours, an increase of about 0.27 hours year-on-year; and the equivalent utilization hours were approximately 915 hours, an increase of about 10 hours year-on-year. BloombergNEF forecasts that global new energy storage installations will reach 188GW/535GWh in 2026, up 45% year-on-year, and by 2036, global cumulative energy storage capacity will grow tenfold compared to 2025, reaching 3TW/11TWh.

Precious Metals Sector Active

Today, the precious metals sector was active, with Sichuan Gold, Chifeng Gold, Xingye Silver & Tin, and Xiaocheng Technology leading the gains. A research report released by CITIC Futures believes that the results of the U.S. midterm elections pushed the dollar and U.S. Treasury yields lower, combined with the previously large adjustment in gold and silver prices, short-term recovery demand for precious metals has been partially released, while repeated oil price fluctuations, rising interest rate expectations, and policy maneuvering will continue to amplify volatility; currently, market expectations for further U.S. rate hikes have not significantly faded, and a sustained rebound in precious metals still requires further cooperation from geopolitical easing, economic data, and the interest rate side.
