Geekplus-W (02590) has finally resolved the major post-IPO lock-up expiry overhang, with early financial investor Warburg Pincus completing a block trade in a single move. After reducing its stake to below 5%, the market widely believes the selling pressure that had weighed on Geekplus's share price has been fully realized, ushering the company into a phase where negative factors have dissipated, allowing it to move forward unencumbered.
Selling Pressure Cleared in One Go
On July 27, Geekplus announced that its largest institutional shareholder, Marcasite Gem Holdings Limited, an entity under Warburg Pincus, sold a total of 88.605 million shares through three off-market block trades. This reduced its stake from approximately 13.43% to 4.78%. Simultaneously, Chen Hejiang (public records show she is the Executive Director of Shanghai Warburg Pincus Private Equity Fund Management Co., Ltd.) resigned as a non-executive director of Geekplus. Multiple market analysts pointed out that the primary factor suppressing Geekplus's stock price had been the anticipated selling from major shareholders post-lock-up expiry. The completion of this sale via concentrated off-market block trades means the biggest uncertainty has been addressed and fully realized in one go. With the stake now below 5%, the remaining shares are essentially in a stable holding period and will no longer exert continuous downward pressure on the secondary market. The period of concern over selling is now over, allowing the company to move forward unburdened.
It is noteworthy that the seller was an early financial investor that has been with the company for nearly a decade, not a controlling shareholder or strategic industrial partner. Warburg Pincus invested in Geekplus during its Series B1 round in 2017. This exit is more attributable to the orderly wind-down of a fund's lifecycle, completed in a "one-and-done" manner without leaving the market with the suspense of a staggered sell-down. Previously, several other key shareholders of Geekplus have explicitly stated their intention for long-term holding, expressing continued confidence in the company's future development. Xiang Feng Investment stated, "Geekplus achieved profitability on an adjusted basis in 2025, with operating cash flow turning positive concurrently. This is a rare feat among current Hong Kong-listed robotics companies. Geekplus has held the top global position in the AMR market for seven consecutive years. Customer loyalty and per-customer value are continuously increasing, and it has been the first to validate a profitable business model. This combination of 'strong sector + leading position + profitability' is a scarce allocation target in the capital market. As economies of scale continue to unfold, we expect an acceleration in profit generation going forward." Hongwei Capital believes, "Geekplus has a clear path for deploying embodied intelligence in real-world scenarios. The company's intelligent AMR robots have been deeply entrenched in the warehousing sector for years, which serves as a proving ground for embodied intelligence. The vast operational data accumulated, deep understanding of scenarios, and continuous refinement of solutions over many years can help the company convert embodied intelligence products into effective industrial orders relatively quickly. Combined with the company's deep global market presence, we are optimistic about its potential to deliver results in the wave of embodied intelligence industrialization." Zhongwan Hezhi Fund emphasized, "The market often views AMR companies as hardware businesses, but Geekplus's true moat lies in its integrated software and hardware capabilities, especially the AI-powered group scheduling algorithm. This ability allows Geekplus to offer comprehensive solutions far exceeding its peers, which is the fundamental reason for high customer retention. The technological barrier isn't in a single point but in system-level collaborative optimization. We are positive about the deepening of this technology moat and will continue to hold our position post-lock-up expiry."
Solid Fundamentals Support Long-Term Value
If the removal of selling pressure clears short-term distractions, Geekplus's deep strategic positioning in embodied intelligence provides a solid fundamental backing for its long-term value. At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), Geekplus unveiled its humanoid robot, Gino 1, for the first time and formally introduced its "One Core, Two Engines" general embodied intelligence strategy. Furthermore, the company launched Gravity, a unified embodied intelligence framework for long-horizon, complex tasks, and premiered its core module, the Gravity 4D Embodied Model. Industry observers view this as a paradigm shift from "predicting images" to "predicting physics." It is precisely the Gravity 4D Embodied Model that made Geekplus's embodied intelligence the only robotics solution at WAIC combining generalizability and efficiency, showcasing a clear path from a "single-event champion" towards an "embodied intelligence solution expert."
Despite being a global leader in its core business, having achieved a profit inflection point first, and making breakthroughs at the frontier of embodied intelligence, Geekplus's current valuation is significantly underestimated by the market. Deutsche Bank previously released a research report stating that Geekplus's current price implies a price-to-sales ratio (P/S) for 2026 of less than 4 times, making it one of the most attractively valued robotics companies in the Hong Kong stock market. In contrast, most robotics peers trade at valuation multiples of 13 times or higher. Based on the average target price of HK$33.07 from 14 analysts, there is an estimated potential for valuation recovery of approximately 257% compared to the current share price of around HK$9.26. With selling pressure cleared in one move, embodied intelligence opening up growth ceilings, and a profitable business model validated first – as these three logics gradually gain market recognition, Geekplus's value reassessment may have only just begun.
