During the 2026 Beijing Two Sessions, a significant urban development was highlighted concerning the Jin'an Bridge area. "Addressing the traffic issues at Jin'an Bridge is a systematic engineering project," explained Chang Wei, Secretary of the Shijingshan District Committee. "Previously, this area suffered from mixed pedestrian and vehicle traffic, leading to excessively long daily commutes for people. Following urban renewal and transformation, we have constructed an 'H-shaped' overpass here, which has substantially improved traffic efficiency. It not only facilitates resident travel but also enhances safety, serving as a model for the entire district in creating a rail transit micro-center and comprehensively upgrading transportation quality."
Just before the 2026 Beijing Municipal Two Sessions, in response to the proposal "On Constructing Pedestrian Overpasses or Underpasses around the Jin'an Bridge Subway Station and Jinding West Street" put forward by Municipal People's Congress representative An Lijuan, Shijingshan District Committee Secretary Chang Wei invited An Lijuan to jointly visit the newly built "H-shaped" pedestrian overpass at Jin'an Bridge. The purpose was to observe and understand the operational performance of this infrastructure.
