In a recent development, veteran Hong Kong TVB actor and martial arts director, Li Ka Ting (also known as "Ding Ye"), has publicly announced the severance of his relationship with his eldest son, Li Wing Hon. He stated that he had been treated as a personal ATM for many years, with his savings constantly being demanded, and declared that all matters concerning his eldest son are now unrelated to him.
Previously, Li Ka Ting had made public his posthumous arrangements, stating that "everything, including money, will be handled by my younger son." This move is intended to prevent his eldest son from making unauthorized endorsements in the future, aiming to avoid a repeat of the tragic circumstances faced by his late ex-wife, Sze Ming, in her later years.
Following Sze Ming's passing, the twin sons became estranged. After the funeral arrangements were completed, Li Wing Hon claimed that his father was only notified of their mother's death two days after the event. However, Li Ka Ting countered this in an interview, revealing that his eldest son had lied and that he was actually notified ten days after Sze Ming's passing. He further disclosed that prior to this notification, his eldest son had solicited money from him, purportedly to cover Sze Ming's hospital expenses, amounting to a sum as high as sixty to seventy thousand dollars.
