Emergency Rescue for 3 Overseas Injured Clients: Ping An Responds Rapidly to Lake Baikal Ice Road Rollover Accident

Deep News02-02 12:31

On January 28, Russian local time, an off-road vehicle carrying 10 Chinese tourists overturned on the ice surface of Russia's Lake Baikal, resulting in one Chinese tourist fatality and four others injured. Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd. swiftly activated its major emergency response protocol and global emergency rescue services to screen for affected customers. As of January 30, Beijing time, five tourists involved in the accident were identified as customers holding Ping An Property & Casualty's overseas travel accident insurance policies; among them, one was unfortunately deceased, while the remaining four sustained injuries including rib fractures and minor wounds.

Upon identifying the affected customers, Ping An Property & Casualty immediately established a dedicated overseas rescue task force to make contact and dispatched local partners to the accident site to provide emergency assistance.

For the three injured customers requiring support, Ping An Property & Casualty actively coordinated with local professional medical resources in Russia, accompanying them to major hospitals equipped with CT scanning capabilities for treatment and follow-up examinations, while also providing medical expense advances and material supplies. To help alleviate the clients' distress, the company specifically provided local SIM cards to facilitate quick communication with family members back in China to reassure them.

For the customer who tragically passed away, Ping An Property & Casualty promptly arranged flight and airport transfer services for the bereaved relatives and dispatched a company representative to accompany the family to Russia to assist with funeral arrangements.

In the face of a merciless accident, Ping An stands guard. The company stated it will continue to monitor the progress of the emergency response, mobilize all available resources to assist in the treatment of the injured, and ensure the full implementation of all overseas emergency, fast claims settlement, and customer care measures, striving to help the affected customers and their families through this difficult time. Ping An has activated a special overseas emergency rescue plan for this incident, and assistance is available by calling the emergency hotline at 95511 (overseas: +86 755 95511), regardless of whether the caller is a Ping An customer.

Attached are 5 key overseas emergency rescue measures: 1. Proactive Claims Service: Actively screen for potentially affected customers and initiate contact to provide claims assistance. 2.
