Short-Haul Travel Bookings Surge Over 30% Year-on-Year for Dragon Boat Festival, Reports Tongcheng Travel

Deep News06-21

According to a report released on June 21, this year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday is seeing three major travel themes gaining traction simultaneously: folk culture tours, event-based travel, and graduation trips. The domestic tourism market is showing steady growth overall.

Short getaways for families with children and young white-collar professionals remain the dominant trend. In regions such as the Yangtze River Delta (Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai) and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, bookings for short-haul travel products have surged by more than 30% compared to the same period last year.

Demand for long-distance travel also delivered a commendable performance. The proportion of cross-province travel bookings for the holiday period has increased by approximately five percentage points year-on-year.
