China Southern Airlines (01055) has announced the signing of an aircraft purchase agreement with Airbus on April 29, 2026. The agreement involves the acquisition of 102 A320 NEO series aircraft. Separately, Xiamen Airlines, a subsidiary in which China Southern holds a 55% stake, has also entered into a purchase agreement with Airbus for 35 A320 NEO series aircraft.

The board of directors believes that major national initiatives, including the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, present broader growth opportunities for the group. The company is actively seizing these opportunities to maintain stable growth in capacity share and optimize its fleet structure. This acquisition is expected to enhance the group's market competitiveness by increasing its overall capacity.
