BRETON (01333) announced that on January 9, 2026, its indirect subsidiary, Galaxy Energy, as the contract issuer, entered into a building installation construction contract for the Dizewa Smart Microgrid (PV + Storage) Project with the contractor, Wu Huang Company. Under this agreement, Wu Huang Company is commissioned to handle the construction and installation work for the project, with a total contract value of $14.939 million.
This project represents the company's first large-scale smart microgrid benchmark project invested in and constructed in the Democratic Republic of Congo. According to the company's announcement dated November 24, 2025, regarding the completion of a placement of new H shares under a general mandate, the "Reasons for the Placement and Use of Proceeds" section disclosed that approximately 70% of the placement funds (about HKD 168 million) would be used to invest in and develop the Group's overseas photovoltaic and energy storage projects. This initiative is intended to advance the company's integrated "PV + Storage + Transportation" strategy.
The current project is a concrete implementation of this designated use of funds and strategic direction, aimed at enhancing the Group's overall solution capabilities in the new energy mining sector. Its successful execution holds significant strategic importance for the company's expansion into overseas new energy markets and the optimization of its business layout.
The Group has established a strategic cooperative relationship with China Nonferrous Metals Fifteen Metallurgical Construction Group Co., Ltd. (the full owner of Wu Huang Company) and successfully bid for this project as a consortium. Wu Huang Company possesses extensive experience and a strong reputation in local mining construction and photovoltaic projects, making its appointment as the contractor beneficial for ensuring the smooth implementation of the project, which aligns with the Group's business development strategy.
