CHINA EAST EDU Forges Partnership with Hong Kong VTC to Advance Vocational Graduate Retention Scheme

Deep News04-20

On April 17, CHINA EAST EDU (00667.HK) and the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council (VTC) formally signed a Letter of Cooperation Intent. The two parties will engage in comprehensive collaboration centered on the Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme (VPAS). The initiative aims to recruit students from mainland schools to study for higher diploma programs in Hong Kong, offering employment recommendations and long-term development support to facilitate students' integrated development goals of "further study—employment—staying in Hong Kong."

As the leading partner in this cooperation, CHINA EAST EDU will leverage the teaching resources of its affiliated schools to assist VTC in promoting and recruiting for the VPAS program in mainland China. Under this scheme, mainland students can come to Hong Kong to pursue higher diploma courses. After graduation, they will be recommended for employment in Hong Kong. Upon accumulating seven years of residence, they become eligible to apply for Hong Kong permanent residency, thereby obtaining Hong Kong identity.

The collaboration covers multiple institutions under VTC, including the Hotel and Tourism Institute, Chinese Culinary Institute, International Culinary Institute, and Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, focusing on the hotel and tourism disciplines. In the future, both parties will also regularly organize activities such as student exchanges, culinary skills competitions, and teaching team interactions to comprehensively enhance students' professional capabilities in both Chinese and Western culinary cultures and practical skills. Additionally, the two sides have actively explored potential cooperation in IT and automotive training fields.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in CHINA EAST EDU's strategy to internationalize vocational education, creating a systematic and sustainable pathway for mainland students to pursue overseas studies, employment, and long-term development in Hong Kong. This initiative not only extends educational services but also deeply empowers students' future development trajectories. CHINA EAST EDU will continue to deepen its cooperation with VTC to help more students advance onto the international stage.

Representatives from VTC also expressed high expectations for the collaboration, noting that CHINA EAST EDU's extensive experience in mainland vocational education will effectively promote talent exchange and industrial integration between the two regions, injecting new momentum into Hong Kong's and the wider regional catering industry.

Looking ahead, CHINA EAST EDU will use this cooperation as a starting point to continuously expand synergistic innovation with VTC across more professional fields, continually optimizing the full-chain service system of "further study—employment—staying in Hong Kong." Both parties will work together to build a broader career development platform for mainland students, cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and contribute greater strength to promoting the high-quality development of the national vocational education system.
