On October 29, Giant Network Group Co.,Ltd. (002558.SZ) released its Q3 2025 financial report. The company achieved revenue of 3.368 billion yuan in the first three quarters, marking a 51.84% year-on-year increase, while net profit rose 32.31% to 1.417 billion yuan.
The announcement came one day after the company disclosed that CEO and General Manager Zhang Dong had resigned for personal reasons. Giant Network stated that Zhang's responsibilities had been properly transitioned and his departure would not impact normal operations. Liu Wei, a company director, has been appointed as the new CEO and General Manager. Liu previously served as CEO two years ago and will now focus on cultivating young core talent.
Under the vision of controlling shareholder Shi Yuzhu, Giant Network is pursuing a "gaming + artificial intelligence" development strategy. On October 20, Shi appeared at the 20th anniversary event for the "Journey" IP. He noted that user growth for Journey had "far exceeded revenue growth" over the past two years - an achievement he considers the team's most significant success, indicating correct strategic direction.
Shi emphasized that games should prioritize player experience over revenue, a principle he introduced upon returning to frontline development in late 2022. "While the team has performed well in user acquisition, there's still much work to make the game truly enjoyable. The key focuses moving forward are accessibility, entertainment value, and replayability," Shi commented.
